I Am A Yahoo! Best Answer

The question...
Would the Republican Party ever accept?
Rudy Guliani for President? If I understand correctly he is for gun control & is pro choice. I would like him to run but if I'm right isn't he going against what his party believes?
and my answer...

If he markets himself properly. he will be a shoe-in. Anti- gun control folks and pro-lifers will accept anyone who can convince them that they will vote for "original intent" supreme court judges. After nearly eighty years of complete control of congress, the dem's gave us judges that respond favorably to the ones who learn to say "WAAA!!" the loudest. The former mayor of New York knows first hand the consequences of idiot judges.
Having said all this, I hope we get a more conservative choice than Giuliani. But I'd be proud to vote for him if he's it.

It's Giuliani... and I, for one, will not vote for him.

Maybe I should check out your archives...I wish you would expound on what it is about "economic liberal" that you find agreeable?? It's the economics of liberalism that makes me crazy! In any case, I'll assume it's Giuliani's (the questioner spelled the name wrong)social stands that push you off. I think he'll make a much more interesting candidate than either McCain or Romney. He has a lot of cross-over appeal, but a lot of his success with Republicans will depend on who he's seen with. It's way too early to tell and he'll take some getting used to. As far as I'm concerned, in our current circumstance the presidency is entirely about the scotus. The President will either put "original intent" judges on the bench, or they'll be nitwits. Maybe you can help me here, I truly cannot tell the difference between a sincere nitwit and a liberal. Our society reeks of the consequences, intended or not, of so many years of over-reaching liberal courts. I know Democrats aren't the answer. Giuliani may be a liberal through and through, but if he can convince me that he's gonna run the court up with intelligent justices as G Bush has, he's got my vote.
