Liquids fascinate me. They aren't always what they seem. The solid water that covers a frozen lake looks like glass, but the ice is a solid. Hey, if you could lay a sheet of GLASS over that lake, it would be a liquid!

I can drink four pots of coffee everyday and keep it up forever, interspersed with a couple of evening beers every now and then, and an odd snifter of Seagrams Seven just puts me where I want to be.

Did you know that romance is a liquid? Yup. It can freeze to the consistency and weight of concrete, flow like a gushing stream, and boil like - well, my soul vaporizes just thinking about my wife's next kiss! Her smooches come often, they are serious, and they are full of wonder and awe. Her hugs still make my knees buckle after twenty-some years of marriage! She puts me in a spiritual place.

She is the reason I know there is a god. (Sorry for the small letter "g" in God. I had no idea who "He" is when I met her.) "He" describes himself sometimes as a pool, or a river, or as rain. I find His love for me in my love for her. I can't find any meaningful reason for the depth of a loving relationship without finding God.

Liquids fascinate me.
