Lady Esspresso and I have been having some trouble with our SBC Yahoo DSL service. She called and asked for help, and they sent a very likable technician. He did find a bad cable to the modem from one of our two office computers, and that sped things up very nicely until a few hours after he left. Unfortunately, that's the way it's been going for us for a while...fast then slow then still slower then fast again.
The best thing we got out of the kind and competent man's visit was the knowledge that there are websites that can measure the speed of our connection. He had me Google "dsl speed test" and pick out "Speakeasy Speed Test" from the google of available sites. So now we have an answer to the question......"Is it just me or is this thing slower than Vermont maple syrup in January?
